What even is an Estate Sale?

Let’s just get right down to it, estate sales are way more awesome garage sales. So you know when you’re out driving around on a Saturday and a few neighbors are putting the junky stuff they don’t want anymore out on the driveway with a generic “Garage Sale” sign at the street from Home Depot? And you kind of stretch your head as you drive by to see what they have but ultimately don’t stop because it’s all eh? An estate sale is NONE of that! People often get them confused and you will unfortunately every now and then see a garage sale incorrectly advertised as an estate sale. But don’t let that fool you, a true estate sale is absolutely where you want to be on the weekends!

An estate sale encompasses the entirety of a home. Often the homeowner has either passed away or is downsizing considerably and taking very little from their own home with them. Of course the homeowner and any family members always have the chance to take the items from the house that they want to keep and an estate sale company comes in after that and sells the rest of the items.

So selling everything in a house means just that, it’s everything! We’re selling the silverware sets, all the tools from the garage, TVs, couches, rugs, bandaids, still good canned goods, jewelry, lawn equipment, bookcases, everything. Most of the time after the estate sale, the family will be listing the home for sale so everything has to go!

And for that reason estate sales are super cool. You never know what you’ll find! They are a great place to find unique and often vintage furniture at a great price! Sometimes there’s vintage camera equipment, or really nice jewelry. It’s a great place to find less expensive kitchen ware. We often have, obviously used, but still in great condition name brand pots and pans that sell for a fraction of the price that you would buy them new.

Estate Sales are a great way to spend you Saturday mornings hunting for a new favorite thing to bring home! And we hope to see you at our future sales!
